Bertling (1891-1970), Bloemendaal, acquired in an exhibition in the Batavische Kunstkring, 29 March 1940. Wanlan nüshi 畹蘭女士 Lady Wanlan is the pseudonym of the poetess Lu Qinghan 陸慶瀚 who worked in Shanghai in the middle of the nineteenth century. She was the wife of Mao Shuzheng 毛樹徵, a painter and collector and an acquaintance of Ren Bonian, maybe the most important painted in China at the time.
