Welkom bij de online catalogus van de aankomende Kunst- & Antiekveiling
Hieronder treft u de online catalogus aan van de aankomende Kunst- en Antiekveiling te houden 22 oktober t/m 5 november 2025. Het is een 'Live Online' zaalveiling. Zodra u bent ingelogd kunt u zelf online commissiebiedingen (dus uw maximale bod) plaatsen middels de online catalogus. Dat kan tot één uur voordat van de betreffende zitting de zaalveiling begint. (U krijgt géén melding als uw commissiebod overboden is). De data en aanvangstijden van de zittingen van de 'Live Online' zaalveiling staan bij elk kavelnummer vermeld. Op die tijden kunt u de live stream van de veiling volgen en 'Live Online' meebieden. Tevens is bieden in de veilingzaal mogelijk. U kunt de catalogus sorteren op volgorde van lotnummer of op volgorde van veilingdatum. Tevens kunt u een lijst met favoriete lotnummers maken middels het 'hartjes icoon' afgebeeld bij het lot van uw keuze. Deze favorieten vindt u terug onder de knop Mijn account > Mijn catalogus. a standing muscular figure holding his right hand to the chin, his left firmly holds the lower right arm; the expressive face with detailed features; the belly shows a deep circular cavity surrounded by traces of an oval box which was affixed to the body; circular cavities can also be seen at the back and back of the head; a piece of trade cloth is inserted in one of the cavities.

Provenance: Johan August Abraham Marcusson (1853-1926) worked between 1876 and 1885 as a commercial agent for the Nieuwe Afrikaansche Handelsvennootschap (NAHV) in the Lower Congo region. During his uninterrupted ten-year stay he acquired several items, including power figures, he referred to as fetishes. In 1885 he donated part of his collection to the Ethnographic Museum of the Amsterdam zoo Natura Artis Magistra. Natura Artis Magistra (N.A.M.), with written numbers at the back and a sticker: N.A.M. / Ser. 137 nr. 83; deaccessioned. Collection C.T. Bertling, Bloemendaal. Of all the Kongo statues listed in the AHDRC archive with one of the two hands touching the chin, only six are in a standing position and all have the right or left hand firmly holding the lower part of the arm like the one discussed here.
