Made of heavy wood with two finely carved handles in the form of ancestral male figures with tassels of plant fibre adorned. The body of the drum with deeply carved decoration of two pairs of fish, masks and geometrical decoration. Painted with black and red pigments and accentuated with chalk. These drums where used in the Men's House to make sacred music and as means of long-distance communication. Private collection Leiden. Possible Provenance Fred Gerrits through information of the family. Objects from Gerrits's collection were sold at Paul Brandt B.V. Auctions Amsterdam , 19 June 1970.
