Civil war-era carte de visite tooled-leather 19th century photo album
of Union soldier, Harry Norman. Harry Norman is identified as the original owner in
the front end papers, including being written on the front pastedown and stamped
on the flyleaf. The same name stamp is found on the backside of an original
Mathew Brady CDV from Brady's studio in Washington. The CDV is particularly
rare as it contains an original tax stamp with an ink "Washington" cancel by
Brady's Washington studio.
Mathew Brady (May 18, 1822 – January 15, 1896) was of the first American
photographers and the most well known photographer of the Civil War.
