Joanna Brom, 1898 - 1980, an enameled pendant on a chain.

Depicting the Virgin Mary with child and St. Catherine of Siena in cloisonné enamel, the back with date celebrating a 40 years jubilee and signed JB. The bezel decorated with granule and and rope wire, stamped with maker's mark J.G.J.E. Brom, Utrecht, 1915 - 1955. On a fantasy link necklace. Joanna Brom (1898-1980) trained in Salzburg, Vienna, Berlin, and Leipzig. She worked as a goldsmith and enameler at the family business, Edelsmidse Brom, in Utrecht. Joanna Brom was specialized in enameling, mainly ecclesiastical objects, for which she won the Grand Prix at the 1937 Paris exhibition
