India, Deccan, a Kalamkari painted cotton hanging, 18th-19th century,

showing two merchant couples wearing fine jewelry and clothing. The borders devided in squares showing seated female figures and offerings. The central panel decorated with floral linings.

Provenance: Private Dutch collection, collected between 1970-1974 by a collector working for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stationed in North Africa.
